mud flaps install help
hi there
i got the scoobywold flaps
i am stuck trying to install the front ones
in the instructions it says "on ur cars wheel arch carefully remove 2 plastic plugs using flat head screw drive, " so far so good
then "insert clip nuts over the wheel arch metal (nut on the rear)"
now this is the problem
if u look at the pic below u can see that the plastic over the wheel arch goes on all the inside on the wheel arch area!
how did u guys do that part?
maybe euro cars r different?
i did search but couldnt' find any pics or anything other than should i drill or not! hehe
any help would be appreciated
thanks
Rasheed

hmm.. sounds strange. I have the Performance Creation ones and they came with 2 plastic like push in bolts that went into those holes (the kind that you push in and they lock in on their own.. kinda like threaded plastic nails) and they work a treat. Do you not have them in your kit of things?
I remember the rear had nuts and bolts...
Dunno how they expect you to get a nut behind there?

i could take the whole thing out but its a PITA!! too many clips and crap
just wanted to double check before i do anything
i will try tom to just push the plastic thing back and out them on
just dont want 2 break it as the lower hole might put too much pressure and break the damned thing!

I did mine about a couple of months ago (scoobyworld ones)
The clips definitely go between the arch liner lip
and the arch edge. The lower one is a bit more tricky
but it does go in, just take your time.

For starters put the wheel back on and get rid of the jack. Turn the wheel full right lock.
Remove the lower plastic screw in the side bodykit, the lowest one in your circle.
remove the side bodykit screws to about halfway along the car.
now you can pull the side bodykit out of the way abit.
Now you can easily pull the inner lining away and get to the back to insert your fixings, use loads of copperslip!

I'm not sure how different the sti sills are, but on the wrx you can unscrew the bottom screw and 'unclip' the front end of the sill, gives you a bit more room to play with! You might want to give it a clean while you're in there, mine was full of crap!!
Good luck!
