Default PSi Monitor fitting?

How do I fit pod mounted monitor into MY2000 - where do I run cable and how do I remove original lid - do I just tear it off? Anyone fitted one successfully who can help out.
PS. Yes, I am a DIY disaster area

To remove the panel just grip firmly and pull upwards, do not try to lever it as you will damage the surrounding trim . They are held in by 6 plastic clips. it will take some effort to pull it enough to release the clips but once a couple have sprung out you can get a better grip to release the rest. The cable can then be fed down past the heating duct and under the steering column to the obd port. The unit then screws into place where the original panel was. I found on mine that the wife kept catching the cable everytime she got in the car so i prised the obd plug out of it's socket and cable tied it under the dash for a much neater job. Hope this helps.
