morning everyone
took my boy to school this morning.
the wrx started to judder when i put my foot on the trottle.. hesitating , spluttering !!what the hell is wrong here ? or is it just the cold damp weather help please..

 

i'd go for the cold if its only done it this morning

 

Mines the same - running like crap.

took it to a rolling road on Sat and it only put out 249bhp where i was expecting a lot more.

funny thing is later on i had to fill up again (with V-Power) and it went like a rocket.

i just cant understand why its so tempremental????

 

im a scoobie newbie..id like to get a few things straight?
in my wrx 93 import i have a u8 ecu .i know these are to run on 100 ron
which u cant get here(. but people use 95,97,98,99 ron.
ive been using 95 ron ...but i put some 97 in yesterday could that be the problem?mixing diffent fuels..? or could it be just the weather?

 

Put V power in or Tesco 99 Jap cars hve been known to go pop if you run them on lower octane fuel - i.e. 95

 

Can you top it up with Octane booster though

 

V-Power or T99 all the way.

When was the last time you had your plugs changed? Could be worth thinking about!

 

If you put 97 when you've been running 95 reset the ecu as the early ecus retard the ignition alot easier then advancing it.
Pretty sure when the early imprezas came out in japan there was no 100ron fuel (mine has a sticker on it saying 'esso super tiger' on the fuel flap did some searching on internet and it came up but not as 100ron).
Ran mine for a couple of years on Optimax (98ron) and it was fine.

 

Sounds like coil packs ...had any other hesitation?
