Default is this any good or cheap crap.

mooching around ebay, i found this spoiler...

it looks similar to a 22b one, and comes with all fixing bolts etc. i know many people on here wouldnt touch ebay, but from the pics it looks quite nice i think, and i was wondering what others opinions were? considering a bid if the price is right so to speak.

by the way, its still new and boxed etc, ready to paint.

thoughts chaps/chapesses

andy

p.s. it would be going on a classic red uk turbo <<<< view my scooby

I was looking for an STI6 spoiler on Scoobyworld and they had this as a bit of a warning -

Product Enquiry Form

The one your looking at seems better though.

bllody hell, thats abysmal. ive sent the person selling at an email anyway asking for close ups of the surface and also underneath piccies to show fixing bolts. if they dont, il simply look elsewhere, just didnt fancy another sti6 spoiler, hence something a little different.

Its not a 22b copy though. The top wing on the 22b one is adjustable for tilt.

i noticed that too last night. assuming the design is that based on the 22b spoiler, but a one piece affair not a 4 piece jobby.

just wanna see some better pics first before i look into bidding...

although they fit classics, those spoilers are more designed for the new ages with the dipped boot lids.

Pics to show what i mean:

Notice how the boot is completely flat.

Now notice how the boot lid has a dip in the middle, just as the spoiler has.

They look "ok" on newages, look pants on classics!

Thumbs down

i bought the same design of an ebay shop last year,it was a poor fit.to fit it to my classic i had to drill new holes in the boot as it wouldnt fit existing holes.wasnt inpressed so i got in touch with the seller.they have since changed the listing to state it would need alterations to fit a classic.no refund tho.has since cost me another boot and spoiler

That spoiler is for new models from 2001, but it looks nothing like a 22B or STi spoiler.
The brake light should be in the bottom section not on the top part.

Pay a bit extra and get one from a respectable company recommended on here.

cheers guys, appreciate your answers as always. the actual quality of the material used looks ok, but it seems the fit is the problem, so think il pop this one in the 'useless' bag.

thinking of getting a 22b replica, but not sure, as my car isnt a two door ltd edition car, just another uk turbo.

can anyone suggest a better spoiler (besides sti v6) than the standard mid level one on now. ive even thought of desinging a one off myself, as people on here know im handy with a pencil, but moulds and fitting trimming etc, seems to much hassle.

pics would be great as an inspiration...

got up today and found the guy selling said spoiler sent me through requested high res pics of the underside of the spoiler and the finish of it.

here they are...

now i dont doubt the quality of it, but again, its the fit. from looking at these, does it seem the bolts in particular fit a newage, or classic. the dip aswell, is that suited for the newage...

im not really interested in it anymore, but it seems like a half decent qulaity item, but half means 50% ie it could be good quality but a ****e fit.

again opinions welcome.

HI ANDY
looks flat on the bottom but its for the newage if you look at first pic i posted it sits up at the corners and dosnt look right especial from th side leaves a big gap that just looks $hit hence 2 days work cutting it and bonding

thats what i thought, the bolts seem particularly narrow for the classic boot. i might be handy with a pencil but cutting and filling isnt my forte yet.
