yep, i have a 99 turbo 2000 too, and it feels nearly as quick as my old 240ps wrx. 215bhp standard they came with on the post 98-2001 facelifted u.k. models.

ive only been driving 10 months and i can get insured on mine £1750 fully comp. if you search, the prices can be half decent....

£1750 fully comp? Christ, that's crippling, but good on you.

considering my details, situation, trust me thats a bargain, even though its more than most on here. everywhere esle wanted £3-3.5k, hence why i shyed away from the idea. but once i found that, i was sold to the devil.

was told by a few people (in the know) that the norm was around 225-230BHP from a stock MY99

I had one for three years from new and loved it, never let me down
had two sets of front disks in 60k miles.

Used to average 26MPG on a mix of driving, got slightly better if run on 97+ fuel.

MAF's are a well known failure on this particular model/year. Mine was fine but many stories of them going and causing problems like melted pistons, etc. do a seach on 'MAFS'

If i could afford it and find a good, low miles example then i would have another one!

MY00 mate
differs to an MY99 coz it has: Six spoke wheels and coloured coded door handles and wing mirrors.

Also a different map/chip to the MY99 i beleive, MY00's not quite as quick as the MY99's and more prone to hessitation than the 99's

Whatever, great cars and i am sure someone will put me right/prove me wrong

Yeap AE802 ECU in MY00 and AE801 in MY99 i believe, think the 99's run slightly more igition advance as standard so are supposed to have slightly more power.

Default Here's mine!

I am sooooo in love with her!!!!! The wife hates her......

Bought her 6 months ago 100 000 kms (60 000 miles) 1 owner (64 year old single lady I kid you not!) All paperwork from day one, all services, completely standard one of the cleanest cars I've ever had! All for £4500!!!!

Have the money for a more expensive car (Wife has a brand new Accord Tourer Type-S) but why should I when I love this one so much.....

Have had many so called sporty cars VW G40, Vectra V6, Toyota GT4, MY02 WRX,

This one is quite simply my hands down favourite..... plus 200kg lighter than the wrx for around the same power

Perfeck!

Had mine for two and a half years now. It's a low miler (29k)

Was a great car when std, now sensibly modified to about 320bhp and is seriously quick.

Always a pleasure to drive, even to potter around in soaking up the flat four rumble

Never put a foot wrong [touchwood]!

Great cars, expensive to run and keep healthy, but look after one and you won't stop smiling!
