Default Subaru WRX problem

Hi

Can anyone help me please......

Ive got a WRX Turbo on a 52, for the past 3 weeks now ive been having a few problems when I accelarate. When im in 3rd 4th or 5th gear and I put my foot down, when the turbo kicks in the car seems to pull then pause, then pull again and so on..................Does anyone know what this could be. Ive changed the spark plugs and its still happening........PLEASE HELP

does it cut out when it pauses?. had a problem a bit like that on my 93 wrx a few years back. turned out to be the camshaft sensor, took ages to find what it was.

i might be totally wrong but if nobody else comes up with anything it might be worth getting it checked out.

Thanks for replying.

No it doesnt seem to, It only happens when its a 3-4K revs +. The turbo kicks in then it just pauses, then accelerates again and so on...........its driving me crazy.......

might be it, mine did something similar. always worth checking anyway. or put a post in the technical section.

Sounds like overboost - too much boost and the ECU compensates and it builds up again and gets killed again in cycles...

Is the car modified? you will probably need a remap if it is.

Needs checking out sharpish - the ecu is trying to protect the engine from detonation - it may not be fully succeeding....
