Sold her back in July - don't know who bought her, but whoever it was that got V2** DCU off Listers, they got a bargain DBM MY00 car with all the mods and a kick-*** stereo MP3 player to boot!

Got myself an M3 EVO to replace it, and don't get me wrong I love the car - apart from luxury abd build, I find it slower from a standing start, but faster than the Scoob from 60 onwards. Its just my Scoob was great fun, practical, great in the wet (the M3 is a little tail happy)

I feel like I'm driving a grown-up car, whereas the Scoob was simply awesome at jumping into and going for a blast anywhere anytime.

Things got especially emotional the other day when some bloke drove past in a Scoob with the full exhaust system on. Man, I miss that sound!

Don't know 'bout you but at least typing this has been cathartic for me.

DazV i also did exactly the same mate,I sold my STI version V type R as the engine blew up, and i was well pissed, then i used a run around for a while and made my mind up,BMW M3 evo coupe, yeah i love mine as well and i do no exactly what you mean,But would i swop back,Tricky one you see i have been accustomed to no rattles, creeks, groans, misfires, and tw##ish remarks from people at work, the answer probably not may be a sign of me getting older i don't no, but at 31 probably not etheir,i will resort to the anwser it does nearly everything the STI did but in a more civalised and grown up manner, with alot more reliability and prestiege, any way that's what i keep telling myself and im also going to buy a cheap little car to rake around on the track for fun just to fill in the little gap that the BM cannot fill that the STI did, tell me the specs of your M3 and if you have any pics Email me some and we can compare, yuo never no we could ask for a BMW thread on this BBS as well as the Ford one etc...

I miss mine too! Got an A6 Quattro which is two leagues higher than the Scoob in comfort and three higher in build quality. Problem is it's just too slow getting to cruising speed! Never got tailgated in the Scoob either, but it's a constant pain from Mr Rep in his crappy Vectra etc in this. (Don't drive any slower than I used to either!) Also miss the lovely sound the Scoobysport back box made.

Which M3 EVO? Is that the original one (early 90s), or the new curvy one (E36??). Just curious, as I wouldn't expect the original to be described as "grown up and civilised"!!
