40k/4yr Service on WRX
Its that time of year again, Tax, 2 new tyres plus Service and MOT
Anyone had a recent 40,000 or 4 year service and know what the rough going rate is for this at a Subaru main dealer?
Cheers

Sounds about right. This is an oil change, Brake fluid change and a checkover. I've also had some advice that its a good idea to change the cambelt at 40k rather than 50k. Up to you.

Mine (2002 UK Bugeye WRX) was £135 but had upgraded engine oil and brake fluid which brought it up to £178 all in. This was with Scoobyclinic (good) and not a dealer (bad). Just for info cam belt service is done at the 50k service on newage cars and is approx £350 all in.

I'm in the same boat Sport160 as you know.
Does anyone know a specialist in Sussex/ Surrey?
Is it generally felt that it's safe/better to use a Scooby specialist rather than main dealer once warranty has expired?

Does using a specialist void your warrenty within three years or not now? i was under the impression you could go anywhere and as long as they used the propper parts you would be ok?

It was Scoobyclinic that advised me to change cambelt at 40k even on new age. Having mine done tomorrow by SC at 42K. BTW I think Wolfie's £350 was for service and belt. SC advertise belt for £190+VAT and this is an uprated item with 40k no quibble guarantee. Sounds good for peace of mind.

Cheers guys
Just that my local dealer wants aprox £300 for the 4year service + aprox £50 for the MOT, as you say a lot of dosh straight after xmas, but there you go the pleasures if scooby ownership
Need to find a local specialist to reduce these costs a bit
