Best scoob for 7.5K??
What would everyone say is the best scooby for this amount?
After having both an L reg WRX and an M reg WRX and now having a Fabia VRS i seriously miss scooby ownership! I miss the noise the 4WD and the general happyness. The VRS is good don't get me wrong but i have the bug.
Now even though i'm 26 on friday i still only have 1 years no claims until march so the WRX's were about £1500 a year to insure.I didn't really mind this but i always hankered after a newer model even if it was a facelift classic to justify paying this much.
A few questions......
Would say a UK Blob eye WRX be more to insure than say a T reg STI classic??
Are the Bug eye's REALLY that bad?? They seem to get slated on here!
If i'm honest i'd like the best of the classic shape but i couldn't stretch to a P1 so was thinking of a UK spec with PPP but will one be THAT much cheaper to insure than an Import STI??? If it's somthing like £300 then i would go for the STI.Also i would be bricking it that the STI would go bang on me
Think i've explained all this right
I'm with Keith Micheals and calling them in the morning on another matter so might ask Gary then..

I'm in the same boat mate. around that sort of money too. and i have also had early wrx imports.
you can either go for say a 2001 y reg bug eye with a few mods and body add ons,a 52 clean standard bug,a highly modded classic or even an sti type r.
like you i dont think the sti would be too wise incase it did go kaboom. im alaways over cautious and whats to say a uk spec subaru wont either. but to be honest i want as new and as well maintained as possible so i think im going for a bug eye.
i like the sound of the flat four and i dont really need the dynamics of the classic because to be fair i have kids in the car all the time now so relaibility and a nicer place to be interior wise would win the toss for me.
that said its bloody tempting to get a nice well maintained sti and throw caution to the wind

from what i have found with insurance it is definately cheaper to insure a newage car rather than a classic. A classic for me was £1895 but my newage only cost me £1364
well i say ONLY but it's still a hell of a lot of money!!!!!!!
