hesitation
Hope someone can help with a problem with my00 turbo classic. When driving at between 2000 and 3000rpm it seems to be hesitating but when the turbo kicks in its fine. It has recently had new plugs which were gapped to 0.7 and last week i reset the ecu to see if that would make any difference but it didnt. After looking at a couple of threads i decided to disconnect the maf sensor(by disconnecting the multiplug on the tubular bit of the air filter casing) and the car kept running although pretty roughly. Can anyone confirm if this means the maf sensor is knackered, is it advisable not to drive the car as i cant get a new sensor till saturday and how much roughly are they? Thanks in advance for any replies.

A new MAF sensor is approx £80 and is pretty straightforward to fit, I had two replaced on my previous Classic and just done one on my latest. I was informed that if you disconnect the MAF then the car should stall - if not then it's knackered. If you do a search on here for 'MAF' there are loads of threads on the subject.

I have put ngk plugs in it and always run it on sul.It never hesitated before so thats why i was asking about the maf sensor and the fact that the car carries on running with it disconnected.
