My first frost this morning since I've had MY00
Normally the car goes in the garage, but the wife beat me home last night. Anyway, this morning I scraped all the ice off the windows, got in started her up, put the heated rear window on expecting the mirrors to heat up and clear, no such luck
Don't they have heated mirrors as standard?
I had to pull over and get me credit card scraper out..., oh and it took fr1cking AGES for the heater to warm up aswell, is this part and parcel of ownership? (This is my first non VW car for ages you see...)

Ha,Ha,Ha......I've just been watching the rally for a few days & whilst sat in the car waking up on the first morning I thought I'd better give it a run and whilst at it clear the rear window,I then gave it 5 mins more shuteye and **** myself when I opened them to find what appeared to be smoke coming off the mirrors which was obviously steam...............A nice surprise though considering that I did'nt know it had heated mirrors.

I do miss the Scoob but now I have.
Heated front and rear screens, heated mirrors, heated washer jets, heated washer bottle and heated seats.
Just hope the battery holds up. LOL

Dunno about the MY00, but my MY01 has them. They work when you put the heated rear screen on, like most other new cars these days.
I asked this question a few months back and got slightly flamed for asking. Never did quite understand why. Heigh ho the joys of the board.

All Uk cars, at least from MY99 have heated mirrors.
If you open the window when the rear demist is on (obv. when its cold outside) you can feel a nice draught of warm air near the wing mirror glass. Can't remember why I found this out. I think I had to wipe some water off the glass last winter and, hey presto warm hand!

Mine (MY98 Terzo) has neither folding or heated mirrors.
Like Mr Lewis says the bright button is very nice though.
Can the 'leckie things be retro fitted?

I jump in my Scoob and switch on the heated mirrors, then the heated seats, if its bad I also switch on the heated front screen to unstuck the wipers. Switch on climate control and away I go. It’s a hard life!!!
