Question

Hi folks

It would seem that getting the drivers seat anywhere near comfortable means that there is an inch to 2 inch gap between the base of the seat (the bit you sit on) and the back rest.

Is this normal or has my drivers seat (standard bucket job) been badly fitted?

Ta

Neil

Question

I too have to have a gap to feel 'snug' in the seat. Funny thing is that my passenger seat obviously has no gap but feels real nice to sit in? I've given up trying to find out why.

Could be worse though .. I had a brand new Vectra the other day and there was no way of getting the drivers seat to feel just right. Absolutly got to be the worst seat ever in a car.

Got a gap too - still, makes it easy to find all my loose change when it tips out of my trouser pocket - it's all in the footwell behind the seat.
Took me ages to get the seat comfortable as well - think it's because of the mechanism. I'm convinced my ideal seating position is somewhere between two of the positions on the seat back ratchet. Why can't they provide a continuous adjustment for the seat back like you find on european cars?

Hi

My MY00 has a large gap as well. It's because of the way the seet height adjuster works - it only changes the height of the seat base not the back rest. Wind both adjusters right up and it'll dissapear (and you be squashed against the roof ).

Well somebody had to do it

If it wasn't for the suckers the Bel 990 would fall through the gap The gap is smaller than it used to be as I was advised to sit a bit more upright.
