Thumbs down

Are those rear lights from a Vectra?

300bhp fwd? May be able to use full power in 5th gear then

Red face

That's a subtle little beast. I only hope and pray that they are not serious

its probably going to be very quick in a straight line tho.
If it handles ok, and has a good traction control system so you can keep the loud pedal down round corners, and it stops the wheels spinning and sliding, its going to be very quick for an average driver.

Its not so unbelievable to have 300bhp front wheel drive, Im sure they have gone for some high revving components, and I am guessing some sort of vtec equivalent, which boots bhp figures massively when in that band. Or is it turbo'd?

Still not going to beat a Koni Cav tho

Looking at the source for this image, it's from Autoexpress.

Check the site out (http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/talski) - it gets worse...

Do you think that every one of the wheels will be slightly different, thus taking the snowflake pattern to its logical conclusion?

At last! A car that makes the Impreza look subtle!

Just looked at the Autoexpress site. Have you seen the head-on picture of the Focus?

Pretty extreme looking.

Cool

Another article in Car this month (all I'm doing at the moment is reading motoring magazines ) shows the proposed RS Focus. It did also mention in the article that Ford are considering an RS Cosworth version which would probably have 4WD. As it stands they reckon the standard Focus chassis can handle about 230BHP without major changes (which is, surprise surprise, the proposed output for the RS Focus).

They didn't have any pictures of the Cosworth version, so I hope this is just an artist's impression rather than a serious proposal.

I can hear the aftermaket companies crying!

Looks, well, 'interesting' is the best way I can put it.

300 bhp? hmm, new front tyres please vicar! More torque steer than a Saab Viggen then!

As for the cosworth focus, there was a thread on the RSOC board that said that big blue had killed the cosworth focus project due to the costs of converting the fwd chassis to 4wd, plus they'd loos the nice rear suspension setup in the conversion, and they are quite proud of that setup.

Oh, and it's FR200

I thought the new scoob was bad, but it has grown on me a bit. I seriously doubt that the Fr300 will grow on anybody.

300hp through the front wheels is the biggest proof for Ford being a horribly (no money for a proper rear suspension, stouter suspension components/axles/wheel carriers or a proper 4WD system) cheap non-passionate company who build products for image instead of the driver.
