Default help needed pls

im looking at a scooby T plate uk car with 70k but its been registered as a cat c, it has an mot cert and can get insured on it, i have a m8 who works at a bodyshop for dick lovett hos gona do a hpi check on it, and he has asked his insurnace surveyor who reckons it was written off due to financial reasons and was sold to a scrappy who then repaired it. It was right hand side damage but dont know to what extent, the car looks really immac from photos but is it worth going to have a look at and will i have trouble selling it at a later date.

depends if the price is right and the car is straight really

if the chasis is fine and the work to repair is fine and most importantly if the price reflects its history then i would not worry - but only if the price is right because you are going to have to explain i believe to any future buyer when you come to sell it on the history

As above really, but why bother, when you can get one that hasn't been in an accident for around £3,500.

TBH im not too keen on the idea as i ave 2 young kids and i dont want anything bad to happen and its the thought of knowing that the car has had an accident, but thought id look into it anyway

he wants some cash and my car, not going to happen, so i dont think i will look into it any further, imo i would be swapping a spottless bmw for a written off scooby plus cash.

Sounds like his wife doesn't want to be driving round in an accident damaged car either.

Walk away, there's plenty to choose from.
