Default Little play with an Evo VIII FQ 300!

Was out today adjusting my Dawes device I have just fitted. Went off slowly and then accelerated, all of a sudden a white Evo VIII was up my ***! Got on to a roundabout and the I put my foot down. He followed me around and did likewise. He was about 3 car lengths behind me. By the end of the dual carriageway he was still 3 car lengths behind me. I thought he would have murdered me, I'm quite impressed with my little MY96 STI!!!

My mods -

3" decat downpipe
Blitz NUR spec 3" exhaust system
Blitz SUS IK
ESL chip to 1.1 bar

I would imagine your car is running 280bhp'ish at the very least, therefore you would have a power to weight advantage - even though his is pushing 300.

The joys of owning a classic

I'm hoping for more than 280bhp when I get it rolling roaded! MY96 STI's should push 275bhp standard at 0.9bar. I've got the exhaust, IK and the chip at 1.1bar. I'm sure it will be near 300bhp?

Also had an engine rebuild 8000 miles ago so the engine isn't that worn!

Remember the last guy who had a "Just had a little play with ...." ?

He got flamed to hell and back. Wait and prepare to be flamed. You'll kill someone soon, apparently

Ah yes of course - an import so you'll have the nice juicy TD05 turbo and not the piddly TD04 that i have.

Should comfortably see off an FQ300 then, no probs

Quote, 'Not if it gets Twisty'

Well what if our man that started this post is an excellent driver and the evo guy isnt......? Not that this is even relevant as you would have to be doing wicked speeds to even notice a gap forming between these particular two cars around those infamous 'twisties'. This of course wont happen as death from hitting a tractor pulling out of turning whilst mr rally hero scooby and evo are on the ragged edge, 4 wheel drifting is the most likely scenario.

One of the reasons I got rid of my Evo, I didnt like the AYC, wish I went for a Evo 7 RS or Evo 6 RSX that didnt have the AYC or ABS brakes, Air-con, radio, infact anything.

Just read the mods again. Aren't sti classics around 280 standard? That would make it with the mods nearer to 320...Deffo was a 260

With the classic at its paper weight, with 320 bhp, i would expect it to pull away a touch, mine is a 390 bhp, tuned 260, so was defo not me

Have a 95wrx sti tommy Kairi and my old man has the new evo and he was saying its very hard to keep behind me as the accel from my impreza is alot faster than the evo, so again the impreza wins

Do you remember his post though. He has since been banned as a troll I believe; and all of his threads have gone.

I had a little blast with a Evo V1 the other day, he came up behind me @ 20mph coming off a roundabout and I thought Oh **** he's going to hand me my *** on a plate
As it happens the reverse was true I had pulled away very convincingly by 4th gear and in the end he gave me a flash and promptly gave up, to be honest he wasnt even a challenge, if he only had 260Hp I can see why
My old 300hp 944 Turbo used to eat fq300 for breakfast in a straight line I still miss the 100-160mph acceleration it used to devestate everything just a bit of a nightmare in the wet
