Default would fitting PPP parts invalidate my warrenty?

being as a PPP pack fitted by the dealer maintains warrenty, if i was to source 2nd hand genuine PPP parts and get them fitted by my dealer would this be classed as the same?

it seems there's quite a few of the parts for sale (apart from the ECU, this seems harder to find) so was wondering where i would stand?

anyone have any thoughts on this?

cheers for the offer mate, but i've got an sti so i think the ecu isn't the one i need.

if you do decide to split the pack up though, i'd be interested what sort of prices you're after for the downpipe and decat

will let you know if I split the pack. Not sure if it would all be different on an STI though.

I am sure you have thought of the dig difference PPP could make to your insurance. Mine jumped nearly £300 and many insurers wouldn't quote.

Having said that I love the car with PPP

with a-plan and IIRC was qouted 10-15% increase, so not too bad

you're right though, all these cars should be PPP spec as std

think fitting the p.p.p would only invalidate the parts affected by fitting it. i.e. ecu would invalidate engine warranty, and rear exhaust and down pipe would invalidate centre pipe warranty etc. items not directly related to the kit such as transmission, diff, bearings etc should all be ok.

really it all depends on how friendly you are with your dealer.

all p.p.p kits are supplied to individual chassis numbers and subaru have records on which vehicles have been kitted, and replacement kit parts can only be ordered with a p.p.p'd chassis number.

you would need a dealer, or a good specailist to code in keys after ecu fitment.

Any PPP pack part fitted to the Impreza would not invalidate the warranty, as my dealer tells me. Each parts has a Subaru pat number and is authorised to be installed on the Car. Check with your dealer first though and get it in writing. I ask for this in writing and the dealer put it on headed paper that and Prodrive or Subaru part fitted to the car would be ok

I couldn't understand it...I am the wrong side of 30, well over five years protected bonus...it couldn't get any better for the insurers. Perhaps it's down to it being the first car that makes me grin...it's a happiness tax!!!

the part is only offically authorised to be fitted to the vehicle it was originally allocated to.

If you say so, but my dealer is not bothered if i retro fit the PPP pack to the car from a salvage vehicle of the same year..

Also Prodrive Exhaust inc Sprt CAT is ok to switch..

I got a nice printed letter to say that they are ok with it and will not affect my extended 2 year warranty on a 04 plate car.
