Thumbs up Fastest Impreza Ever ......

Probably been done, I am a little slow at my age - but a £29,995 Impreza?

"Subaru is commemorating the anniversary of rally ace Richard Burns' death in the most apt fashion with a special edition Impreza, the RB320.

As the name suggests, the RB320 comes with the Impreza WRX STi's performance pack to boost power to 316bhp and slash 0-60mph to just 4.8 seconds.

That makes it the quickest and most powerful Impreza ever, and a virtually guaranteed way to add some serious points to your licence.

Unique 18in alloy wheels feature alongside Prodrive-developed suspension, lowered by 10mm at the rear and 30mm at the front.

Other RB320-only parts include a revised rear anti-roll bar, chrome mesh front grille, front lip spoiler, quickshift gearchange, sill plates and gear ****. Owners also receive an individually numbered black alloy tax-disc holder"

Limited edition, only 320 made and £30k.

Best value new impreza there is, just look at the resale values or all the other limited editions compared to std. + a couple of nice extras to boot.

Not the fastest ever, no. Best looking since the Rb5 though

Best value Impreza there is? PMSL mine cost 6k and would blow it away, that's value. Not 30k on something that's value will drop like a stone.

Best looking since the RB5? PMSL again. The P1, 22b and typeR version 5-6 came along at the same time or after. Cosmetically the RB5 just had a bad paint colour and some different wheels. Sorry, I forgot the ugly driving light covers

Well, its depreciation will be nowhere near as much as an STI or a WRX - You only need look at other UK special editions to see that. (when I say special editions, I mean special and not purely cosmetic as per Terzo etc)

Yes, like the P1 I had and lost nearly 15k on you mean?

The depreciation will in fact be more money wise, but possibly less % wise.

Hmm, reading not a strong point.

I'll try again.

BEST VALUE NEW IMPREZA THERE IS.

Money wise this isn't a matter of opinion, it's just true. Unless you did read right and bought a brand new impreza for 6grand that would blow it away. In which case please could I have the details.

Just look at the past values of special editions to see the trend. The value won't drop like a stone.

As for my other comment, well type R and P1 just look wrong with the 2door body and skinny arches. 22b came before the RB5.

over how long?

It's like the WR1 - if you want an STI and you want PPP and you want some 18's and you want the prodrive suspension then it's good value and you'll get cheap insurance. It should hold it's value better than the standard car with the above additions.

Overall, you win on residuals (slightly) and insurance and it probably costs less to buy than the standard plus additions (unless you can negotiate hard, but then I managed that on a WR1 too)

So if you want and STI with the additions it's a no-brainer, just like the WR1 was at the time.

Might not be new but nearly everything mechanical is either new or rebuilt

In anycase, if I was stupid enough again to buy a new Subaru I'd get a parallel or JDM import, both of which cost much less than this car. OK this will have some other bits tacked on, and some extra BHP, that doesn't make it better value.

I have indeed looked at past values of special editions, and they do drop like a stone. They lose much more money than standard cars, but perhaps less in a % form. Look at a P1 or 22b for comparison. Both of these editions have lost around 20k on their list prices. How many classic uk turbo bog standard cars lost 20k????

Er, the P1 and typeR look wrong in a 2 door? WTF. Looks like we both need glasses

My old 22b was a T reg, weren't most RB5s also T reg or am I missing something here?

To be fair, any brand spanker is going to lose money fast, exotica aside. If you are worried about depreciation, then buying a new car is not a way to avoid it.

I think it is a great looking car and proper ltd editions hold their value pretty well. The most interesting thing for me is the suspension. It isn't just a spring kit but full Bilstein kit plus the ARB modifications so it should be pretty special.

It looks just like every other new STi so apart from a tiny badge somewhere who is going to know you have an RB320? plus as it only has 316bhp why did they not call it an RB316 instead?

Ok I conceed!!! but apart from one being blue and one being black and the black one having a splitter and some shiney mesh what exactly is completely different about them? maybe it is the angle but the black one doesn't appear to have any fog light covers on it, it looks like a complete bumper.

Oh yeah and the wheels are a differnet colour.

Yeah, and the MY04 WRX with PPP is down for 4.8 so it's only as quick as that!
