Default Just got MY03WRX back from API after a little engine tweak

As you all probably know my car has been with David at APi for a week having the engine breathed on.

Original post: https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-...+power+upgrade

originally the car was supposed to be going on 14/15 november for the upgrade and I was to travel from Doncaster down south for a couple of days.

Onyl problem was days before this I was told I was working in london for a week!!!!!

So I called david and gave him the bad news, sorry david I cant make it next tuesday..... he did nt sound worried at all when I explained the problem and just said 'no probs i'll meet you on your way down sunday and take the car off your hands'

Sunday is officially a day off for david and I was surprised by his offer but also pleased by it. So when sunday came along I dropped of the M1 at junction 16 and awaited david's arrival.
Soon enough a Black Forrester loomed into view on the road. (heard it before I saw it)

Out jumps david and after a short chat my car disappears with him in it.

The next monday ie 20th on my way back up from london with work collegues we navigate ourselves to APi to pick my car up. All my mates are laughing saying we'll never find the place!!, bet your cars been stripped for parts etc!!!!, the next time you'll see that is on road wars!!!! etc etc

friends eh? what would you do without em

just using the map from the website we were straight there within minutes of leaving the M40.

On arrival all my work collegues jump out of the van muttering words like , cool place! how many scoobies!

soon change their tone dont they.

Anyways I speak with david who is very happy with the car and just so you all know has installed the folowing mods:

VF35 Turbo
Full decat exhaust, wrapped down pipe (track use)
EcuTek Re Map
Ported and wrapped headers
Panel Filter
Sti Pink Injectors
Uprated fuel pump
Oil and filter change ( just for good measure)

My car had PPP fitted but that has all been removed. ( Up for sale now so will be in general sale soon)

The result is 325-330bhp which I am very happy with.

Car drives just as smooth as before but when the turbo kicks in now it goes like stink. The smile factor is 10 out of 10.

Have no idea re petrol comsumption at the moment before anybody asks, but to be honest I dont really care. If I cared about that I would have had a diesel engine fitted!!

A Big thanks to David at APi and his collegues for all the work completed and especially for david sorting out picking up my car for me which he didnt have to do.

Hope this report didn't bore you all too much but if it did you probably didnt get this far anyways. Just thought i'd share my experience with you all

Good aren't they!

It's a very good upgrade which appears to get consistently good results.

Who did your mapping?

Suspect your fuel consumption will actually improve. Mine did on a remap. Makes you wonder what manufacturers are up to with OE maps.

No, it wouldn't be David mate, as far as I know he doesn't have a hand in mapping Most likely Pat Hereborne (sp?) or Paul (Pavlo) I'd suspect. You might wanna confirm as if you want a map tweak in the future, it's cheaper to go back to the same mapper (I'm sure David would arrange this for you anyway though)

I remember you giving me the 330hp badges and looking at yours thinking 'that says 400hp!! I want one'

cant wait to see it at the scoobyshootout next year if they re run it. And if you take it.

Thanks again to you and all your team

The best bit for me is that l get to drive around for a while in all these cars.

Job satisfaction for me is high, especially when you look at the spec. of some cars.

It really is appreciated that people will allow you to take control of their quite often very expensive motor car. It is a privilege that we don't abuse. There is no need to go tearing round the block [ unless mapping of course ] to see how many cars behave.

AND, it produces a learning curve that you can test and evaluate a car with someone or others, new fangled widget fitted and see if it does what it is supposed to do.

My wife calls some of the more extreme cars ' magnetic cars '; it's like it's been to a drive-through Halfrauds and everything stuck to it on the way past
