Hold the button down on your Defi Link Controller and move the needle round to around 120 degrees

it means the controller unit isn't picking up any signal so changing the warning level won't help.

Check the plug connection on the back of the controller unit; failing that the problem is further along the cable/sensor

As quoted on the other thread, dont think the controller or gauge is at fault .... its the sensor or the sensor lead!!

Wink

Start at the oil temperature sensor, (which will either be on top of cylinder No.3, rear of motor, driver's side, or in the sump.)

Check there's a wire coming from it, and follow it as it goes through the bulkhead, look for chafing.

Check it's securely plugged into the rear of the control unit, and that none of it's mini-pins have come adrift, (one of mine did).

Check that the daisy chain from any other gauges is securely plugged into the o/t gauge and whatever it comes from.

If the problem still persists, e-mail Defi in Japan. the speak English and are very helpful indeed

look here for a guide:

Psi3 - ECU Data Monitors, Car Hi-Fi, Navigation, Multimedia - Downloads

don't think the guage could have been working just before you bought it then!

The usual (best) place for this is in the tapped hole on top of cylinder No.3, which is the rearmost cylinder on the driver's side.

It can be seen if you look down just in front of the turbo and intercooler, it has an 8mm hex socket (Allen bolt) with a large flat head screwed into it.

If you are using the Defi sender, (as you must) you'll need an adpator, available from scoob dealers, Defi dealers, etc. Mine came from Scoobymania, and cost about £8.

You'll PROBABLY also need a LONG 8mm Alen key to remove the blanking plug in the tapping. Mine is an American make, and cost £6.

Don't forget PTFE tape on the sender to adaptor, and adpator to block threads, to avoid oil leaks. DON'T overtighten adaptor into block, esp if, like mine, it's made of alloy!

Easiest to remove intercooler to get at it (a bit) better)
