Petrol and road tax hikes

Petrol and road tax hikes
With the "leaked" news that this inept government is considering massive hikes in petrol tax and road tax for, at least, the top band polluters (that's us!) who is gullible enough to believe it's all to do with global warming and nothing to do with simply raking in more revenue?
Scoobs that are under the emmisions based sceme pay £190 but if you bought your car after last March(?) it's £210 (unless you import, then it's £175?)
How much do you reckon we'll be paying and how much will it take before you crack and bow to the infinate wisdom and environmental concern of this caring and sympathetic group of genuine, democratically elected hero's and sell your nasty, filthy, polluting vehicle, and join the green brigade and ride a bike? (The exercise will probably make you fart more - so much for reducing greenhouse gases!)

"top band polluter" depends on how many miles you do and whether you offset against other polluting activities, e.g. driving around the UK on holiday causes less emissions than flying to the US on holiday. The proposed tax increases are a very blunt weapon. They are usually sticks and very few carrots.
When fuel tax gets too high, I will get a moped for the commute and keep the Scoob for fun

I seem to remember from school Biology lessons (quite a while ago) that all plants absorb and need CO2 to grow and produce O2, so all we are doing is feeding the plants they should be taxing low emission drivers for not doing there bit
