Hi, I don't know what the figures are for a standard MY05 STI are but a PPP one is according to Prodrive as follows :-

0-60 = 4.7 seconds
0-100 = 12.6 seconds

301bhp
299lbft of torque

Some magazines have had 4.5 seconds to 60 and sub 12's for the 0-100 dash. Have a look on the Prodrive site as it gives you the figues for the STI with and without PPP installed.

If a STI is 0-60 in 4.7 why not get a PPP on the normal WRX as that is 4.8 according to Prodrive??? Do some people just like the big wing and gold wheels which shout LOOK AT ME!!!!!

an STI continues to be faster above that speed tho then a ppp'd WRX- the reason they are so close for 0-60 is that the WRX having only a 5-speed box can do it in 2nd gear whereas an STI with a 6-speed box has to make an extra gear change to 3rd

Fair enough i guess, maybe its just because i end up having to tell people that the prodrive WRX is just as quick. I guess people who dont know think its standard because it has no big wing. Perhaps i should buy some big prodrive stickers

Bigger turbo = more lag.

Not so sure an Sti would be significantly quicker than a PPP'd WRX ; they'd have about the same bhp and torque, the STi has its 6 spd box, but then the WRX is around 100kg lighter. Sounds eeksie peeksie to me.

Go figure.

there is a fair bit in it in terms of in gear acceleration ( having just sold an PPP wrx 03 for an 03Prodrive STi) Sti is laggier but ultimitaly faster if you keep it on the boil, very nice car id say although i liked both cars for what they were, cant really go wrong with the new age chassis its a great car all round for my requirements

But if the maximum speed limit is 70 in the UK why would you need a car that's any faster than the WRX over 60?
I've always wondered though, how many of you modified STI owners have actually taken your car on a track to use the extra speed available over the limit? Might be worth a Poll thread.
