Default Mice in the dash ??

Hi all, might be a daft question wont be the last

Had My05 WRX for 3 weeks now great car and loving it to bits except

My dashboard sounds like its full of mice squeaking away.

Had it back to the dealership once already seemed to cure a couple of them
( still under warranty)

Its nothing major just BLOODY anoying and drives you

Dealership says squeaks and rattels not covered under warranty ,
from what Ive read on this site the older scoobs seemed to suffer from such problems, but not the newage.

Anybody else got mice in their dash or is it just part of owning a scoob

I had/have a rattle in my dash, started when i fit the Prodrive springs.

Was in the garage and asked them to lOOk at it. Report came back that they could not hear anything, after covering 7 miles to try and listen.

Is going to another dealer shortly for it's service, they've been brilliant, so i don't doubt they sort it.

I've got a few rattles starting in my 04 too. It's worse when the heating's on, so perhaps get it hot before you take it back in???

IIRC, the warranty on squeaks and rattles for Scoobys is for one year, and after that it's tough. My new MY05 when I purchased it had a few and the dealer didn't really do anything other than tighten stuff up, which did not really work. I then stuck bits of felt inbetween the dash at the relevant points - like where it meets the window glass and that solved one or two, but it was pot luck as to where. Welcome to Subaru...

seems like you ain't havin much luck at the moment!! My classic doesn't have any at all but i have been out in a couple of newer ones and noticed the same kind of noises. I guess you either have the choice to really pester the dealer into doing something about it, which they should do as its so new or have to deal with them as annoying as they are.
Hope you get it sorted.

after 5 years of subaru ownership (including many new and second hand cars) I've found that the best way to get rid of rattles is to turn your sterio up and ignore them! If the rattles are serious you'll soon know so just enjoy the drive, and your music!

I had that in a Vauxhall once....... mentioned it when I had it in to the Dealers for service - came back with a pint of WD40 dripping from behind the dashboard - but it worked!
