Alright, just a bit of advice. Does anybody know if my98uk Turbo would be limited to 145mph. I had the chance to take it up to this speed (not on the public road) and i found it stuck at 145mph at a perfect 6000rpm with a thousand left. Is this the impreza maxed out or should i be able to take it any higher. Thanks

Not actually limited though, except by it's aerodynamics, (or lack of them), and power.

Thanks for the input, as long as i know i aint lost any speed and i would have to agree its the acceleration and the handling that makes the scoob what it is.

I had my '97 Uk turbo with around 300Hp (de-cat, dawes, etc.) off the clock (i.e. >160) when having a bit of a run against a tuned escort cossie a few years ago! Generally, scoobies are crap top-speed machines and there have been many cases of overheating/engine failure at top speed.

not enough gears
I have a 94 import wrx witha full trust exhaust including de-cat and a group A rally manifold plus a 20g turbo. the car is pushing around the 330bhp mark. And i found out on a trip to germany, that i could have done with an extra gear. I got to 165mph on the clock in 5th and found the rv limiter. Shame cause the porker 911 i had just passed was able to pass me again

Your scoob has an electronic limiter in the ecu that reduces boost by 50% - typically at an indicated 148mph. Anyway that's what the local Ecutek mapper told me when I had my MY99 classic Tek3'd a few years back. He upped it to 154mph at my request.

My MY99 standard apart from magnew back box, went up to 152ish and feel it still had a bit left (passenger started feeling unsafe), only had the car 3 weeks wanted to see what it could do!

Oh dear - better get my pipe and slippers! I would love to tell you I had been off the clock - truth is in 7 years ownership of all sorts of scoobs from standard to 400bhp I don't think I've ever gone over 100mph
