What am I doing wrong?!

Honest opinions please.............
I've advertised the car on SN, Pistonheads, Autotrader, etc and I've had two nothing phone calls and that's it.
I need to sell the car but don't want to give it away.
Any help would be gratefully received.
Ben

i dont think that you are doing anything wrong really.
it seems a well presented ad, and the car looks in good order.
i cant comment on the price, perhaps it is overpriced, dunno, but if anything i would lose a couple of the chavy extras from the car, which may present a better image of the life the car has had.
other than that get some patience, its only been advertised a couple of weeks. my bug eye took 6 long months to sell.
good luck.

It's a hard fact of life that mods on a scoob are an absolute red flag to any cautious buyer. I'd walk away from a modded scoob before a high mileage one.
Yours is both.

Supply & demand fella too many cars, not enough buyers. If you have time ie no desperate need to sell then I'm sure you'll be fine as it's a nice looking car & doesn't seem over priced. You just need someone to come along that is looking for a UK car V Reg

I'd say that's a fair price. I bought a MY00 in March for £5k with 95k, and yours looks in better nick.
If I had to guess, the mileage perhaps is putting people off, not that it should though - as we all know 100k+ is bugger all.

I'm no expert but if you have raised the boost level would you have needed to have the air fuel mixture altered to match this? This may put off potential buyers. Also VTA BOVs aren't considered good for the running of the car either with the MAF. These are things I've picked up along the way that may have put off potential buyes.
I would deifinitely lose the VTA and boost controller.

Always one of two reasons for a car not selling. Supply outstripping demand, and price. And you have both against you - there are loads out there selling so buyers have a wide choice, and price.
If you priced it at £2,000 would it sell. Probably pretty quickly. But you'd only have 2k for it. So, you have to decide what the car is worth to you, not what the car is worth - as therein lies the big difference. Good luck

Think a lot is to do with supply and demand. When i purchased my Newage a year ago, there were ususally around 80- 90 Imprezas for sale on Pistonheads. Today there are 263 !
Also would get the parking dents removed (usually about £30 each panel) as however minor, to state a few dents here and there would certainly put me off as a potential purchaser. Otherwise looks a tidy car, in a good colour.
good luck

Stick it on Fleabay. You'll get market value + Agree with Bubba re remove chavy bits. Sell the separately and you'll get the best of both worlds.
