Hello... where's my car??
Hello all i'm new here..
I currently own a spec c 06 sti ... have not driven the car for three months due to engine failure... has any body else had any problems...?

I dont know of one twin scroll JDM that uses ANY oil, they are very good, also ive not known of any JDM twin scroll let go either, especially a brand new one.
What was the diagnosis on the failure?
Oh and subaru wont cover the warranty in the uk, they will in japan but once its exported......

Where did you get the car from?
These cars dont understeer, ive owned one for 3 years, slight oversteer yes, and thats on the RE070's, also what mileage is on the clock, going fully synthetic at 1k miles isnt good, it will cause more problems because the engine needs to bed in still.
Did you adhere to the running in protocol?
Did you warm the car up before going for it?
Also whats this pipe you changed?

They understeer compared to what I'm used to. Never going to to get away from the dodgy weight distriution with the bladdy engine hanging waay out infront of the axle, who's silly idea was that anyway? (oh, Audi's 
).

Spec C's have a tendancy to oversteer slightly, then the A-DCCD pulls it back out a bit
Also consider that the subframe is slightly different and the car is seam welded for strength, other STi's aint

Still needs a few bags of cement in the boot and they still have the inherant understeer regardless. Really needs an upper link arm on the front suspension (ala Nissan), then maybe you could have a sniff at dialing it out properly.

Ive not had the car understeer on me on a dry road yet though ive done some silly cornering 
and was quite amazed the car came out the other side
I have had the car understeer on a runway though, dial all the way back and heavy right foot was a hoot though the front tyres didnt agree with me 
Remember also that the suspension is different on a C to a normal STi

If its just a back box....
Down side is that Subaru UK dont have to deal with any JDM cars, at all
Oil use is not uncommon on UK cars, its definately not common on JDM STi's.
Is the supplying dealer dealing with the claim?

mine has never used a DROP of oil when i have checked before/after any service..... did a 1000 mile run out to WRC germany and didnt lose any either.....

I think the people who acutally own these cars know they dont use oil, they dont understeer, they dont have front end grip problems, tyres blistering? they love to be hot, they grip even better when they are!
Ive been on an airfield with an Evo 9 320, my car outhandled it, simple fact, even on the road i reeled it in on the corners

Took my Spec C out at Cadwell with the driving instructor. It was a complete hoot as he gave me this huge preframe on how he was a Scoob rally driver and this was how I needed to drive it around Cadwell. We then went out and after about five laps he just went on and on and one about how it was not like any Scoob he had been in and wanted to know what mods I had made.
Errrrr - none! As it was standard.
Yes - Spec Cs understeer, and oversteer, and run neutral. It really comes down to driver choice, diff setting, oh and driver ability - I got that from Don Palmer after he drove it

Good, I'm happy for you are content and don't have to spend money on sorting it out, Rannoch. 
I'll stick with the 'ol Honda (although my mate keeps badgering me to swap for another week again, yes that would be the one with the spec C )
