b & m quickshift
i got the b and m quickshift today and was hoping to fit it this weekend. i am slightly mechanicly minded but what i need to know is it a straight forwardf job to do or is it a better idea to take it into a garage as i do not want to mess anything up, can anyone give me some pointers of the best way to do it and what things to watch out for?
thanks
steve

also been looking at the fitting instructions and it says you need to jack the car up, do you need to get under the car to do this job as i have a 6ft pit in my garage so rather than proping it up to undo stuff can i just leave it as is firmly planted oin the ground and just get down in the pit?

Don't forget you'll need to remove the split ring, (I think thats what you call it) and you'll need a tool which will help you do this.
Split ring pliers or something... (Basically, they work the opposite way to normal pliers, when you squeeze the handle, they open the two noses)...
God I hope that makes sense...

Fitted one to my 99MY when I had it. It's an easy job and you don't really need to get under the car to do it (I didn't anyway!) The difficult bit is popping the ball into the nylon cup - it really is a bit of a git as the cup flexes downwards. Lots of the white grease that's supplied, helps. Lots of patience reqd. but it can be done.
The result is great, but you do need to get used to it. Feels heavy at first.
