Post REMAP -

Morning everyone?

Abits of advice on a remap for my 98 2000 Turbo model.

I've not come acorss any threads on a Remap for 2000 turbo models Is it because you cant get it done or is it because im the odd one out that wants to get it done? ( you tell me peeps )

If i do get the remap is it good for the car? Also would i need to change or add anything else to the car???

Last but least.. what sort of BHP will it be runing at ?

pre-99 cars can't simply be "re-mapped" on the existing ecu. "Chips" are available which will be mapped to certain mods, i.e. you fit the mods the chip is mapped for along with the chip, it will never be specific to your car though.

(scoobyclinic do something which is added to your ecu and can be mapped, however)

The other, and arguably better, option is to get an Apexi Power FC ecu and have it fitted an properly mapped to your car.

Why do you need a re-map though, are you planning modifications?

You cant fit a 'ScoobyECU' into a MY98 car unfortunately so its a replacement ECU or nothing...

Alternatively, power engineering can fit a piggy back chip to the MY98 ECU which then means it can be remapped time and time again as you mod the car using stadard ECUTEK software, so it can be done anywhere, it doesn't need to go back to them for remapping.

I think they charge about £700 for fitting and first map. I friend had it done a couple of months agoand he even managed to negotiate a price reduction somehow, and paid abotu £600 IIRC.

AFAIK this is the only option other than ECU replacement for the MY98. Or was when I had mine until I sold it about 18 months ago, having owned it for 3 years.

Smile Apexi ecu

If you live in the London area the Jolly green monster (Simon Roe) is the man you want. He lives near you and knows all there is to know about Apexi ecu's. Mick
