hi guys
im quiet new to this site and have just registered so please be gentle !
anyway, im currently thinking of changing my car, i have an astra sxi at the moment but im looking about for a subaru, i was initially deciding between a scooby and a bmw 330ci, but decided on the scoob
im interested in a 2003 black WRX, its done 14,000 miles and looks fairly clean. what should i be looking for when going to view this and also what should the expected running costs be like ? ive looked into insurance and thats going to be about £1500
heres pics of the bad boy im going to see
also aswell ive been reading about blog/bug eye, whats the difference ? what one is the one im looking at ?

That one there mate is a Blob eye. A very nice one too! With only 14000 on the clock you wont have too much too check for wear and tear wise. Should be bedded in nicely. Just check for the usual things like bodywork allignment and dinks and scuffs. Get youself down to a scooby meet near you to show her off and dont forget to wave at other scoobs!! Its a tradition!!

Weird! I was thinking about a BMW and I picked up an 04 exactly the same as that 4 months back! I paid just under £12k, similar mileage too (what's that up for?).
It generally costs about £50 to fill up and for that I get about 285 miles before the light comes on. I've not yet had to service it so can't comment on the costs of that. I like how it drives, though some people say you need to get the PPP upgrade for more power (about £1600).
I like the look of the WRX, doesn't look as 'chavy' as the STi Looks great in black too, and incase no-one else has typed it quicker than me, it's a 'blobeye' the 'bugeye' has smaller rounder lights and is older.

Looking at the pictures again, I thought the MY03's had round boot locks and non-colour-coded sills? Looks more like an MY04 to me????
One thing you need to check is if it is a UK model or an import. Imports generally don't carry as much value.

I agree it looks like my Prodrive WRSport back box and in fact it's identical to my car but the boot lock should be round I reckon. Check it hasn't been rear-ended and the boot lid replaced
My insurance is only £400 with Privilege but I'm pushing 40.
Great car-do it....you know you want to

My insurance is twice what you're paying, still don't think that's too bad though.
