A mate had a break in and they failed to get his Alpine CVA screen out when they got a bolt off the Taser so they do work

Have you seen the advert in Robocop (or Robocop2 - I am not sure which) when they have an electrified car alarm. It zaps the thief (toasting him pretty well - smoke and all), and afterward opens the door and dumps him outside.

The best thing is leaving glovebox etc open and showing an opportunist thief there is no immediately accessible item worth taking.
Unless they really do want the car they will just move on to find an easier target.
As mentioned above, a Tazer, Toad Gas or anything like that will more than likely infuriate the perpetrator who may then take his screwdriver to your seats dashboard etc.

I should have checked the BBS archives before starting this thread - shame on me!

Mind you - whether it's a good idea or not and whether it works or not, it heartens me to think that in these politically correct times, someone makes a device that (mildly) electrocutes the scumbag who's trying to nick your car!

I'd sooner go for the Robocop version though...
