new engine knocking :(
im havin some serious bad luck..
i blew my old engine last week..after taking it to a garage i was told one of the pistons had a hole in and it would be better to buy a new engine..well ended up buying one for £800 was told it was ok..
i had the cambelt changed had new oil and filter then after paying labour for a mechanic to remove my old engine and replace it with this (about 9 hrs at £35 an hour)i have now noticed that the engine is knocking when revved up
im gonna go to where i bought it from tomorrow and see what they can do about it..

i took it to a local garage that i know have worked on plenty imprezas before..they have done a good job fitting it..the problem obviously was there before...
the place i bought the engine from (breakers) said all there engines are tested so i thought it would be ok
they said £940+ vat for the engine at first but i got them down to £800 cash

Have a word with them today; grade A are highly regarded on here and I'm sure will help. As I'm sure you were most likely advised on the original thread though, it's often best not to go for the cheapest option in situations like this; a proper rebuild will cost more, but there won't be any problems of this kind.
