Default Adjustable Diff

Does the adjustable diff on a classic impreza RA need anything connecting to the factory fit handbrake in order to function correctly ??

I'm fitting a hydraulic handbrake but there is a wire that connects to the factory handbrake, presumably for the handbrake light on the dash, but i just wondered if it did anything else too

Thanks Chris.

I know that when the handbrake is operated the diff switches to the "diff free" position regardless of where the control/indicator switch is...even if fully locked.

So thjere must be some connection between the handbrake and diff controller.

It works off the handbrake tell-tale lamp, so Id try to incorporate the switch (or a replacement) if you can.

Yes, as above.

It's so you can do handbrake turns without damaging the drivetrain.

Go to www.neetronics.com site and look at all their data, explains everything quite well.

Put a standard type handle cover on and make the release button in to a switch, as you pull the leaver up press the end
