Default Impreza Turbo....MPG???

hiya!

mine inprt '95 impreza turbo drinks petrol like a mother f**ker!!!

As much fun as having over 300 bhp, the fact i spend all my life at a petrol pump is a pain in the ****!

If i put in £20 i get 100 miles, or 75 miles for £15.....

...does this sound familiar or is mine particularly juicy? i dont drive it hard very much @ all....just a quick blip every now and then (as you do!!)

I've got a UK T2000 near enough standard and 280 miles to a tank gives me about 25mph running about town. Have had 30mph from longer motorway runs.

You ought to be kicked off the motorway for "failing to make reasonable progress" or summat.

I can't say what speed I was doing but in a UK car revs were at 3500rpm in 5th gear for most of the way

I get 170 miles out of £35 and most of this is DC driving, Is this because i've got a jap import but 80 in 5th is 4000 revs for me?

I just laugh when I fill up the Scooby these days. £40 to cover 190 miles. The vRS diesel would get me into the middle of Scotland (from Brum) on that much!

You dont really buy a scoob for its MPG anyway

Subaru have kind of shot themselves in the foot with the newest tv advert, it puts out the wrong message showing a guy returning home with a new subaru with a petrol tanker parked behind it in the drive

I can't beleive some of these figures, I get a good 300-320 miles out of tank. Mixed driving: country lanes blast, motorway and town driving and trust me I drive the car hard.

Modded Uk Turbo with 317BHP

You either rant the **** out of it or the car isn't set up properly.

Just out of interest, How many of those getting rubbish MPG's have had the car's remapped??

What fuel are you using in them??? I found I would got 20-30 more miles using optimax over normal 95 ron fuel when the car was standard.

Nope - standard apart from air filter and centre / backbox on mine. But... it is my weekend car, so I don't tend to drive it like I'm a granny. I have the Skoda for that

When I put a full tank of Tesco's 99 RON in my car (£45'ish) I get 200-240miles driving Miss Daisy ...or 160-170miles driving like I've just stolen it!

But seriously you dont buy a Scooby if you care about fuel economy!

mines been remapped, got a de-cat, straight thro exhaust, chipped, induction kit and cat removed....and like i said its around 100 miles t £20 using sainsurys super unleaded (97 ron i think....)

not overly fussed about MPG as the constant smile on my chops makes up for it, just wanted to compare to others.....

Either you've got a really small tank, it's running very rich or your gearing is not suited for higher speeds. I'm thinking the later might be the issue

But saying that I've come back from santa pod which is 311 miles to my house, done this on a tank of fuel and we always have a really good play on the way back from santa pod, normaly 7-10 cars (JDM and Uk) all modded and non us have needed to stop and refill.

Oh well it's only money and you can't take it with you

It's probably not a good idea to drive at 172mph whilst 'playing' with somebody!! You really should keep BOTH hands on the wheel
Dave.
