2003 WRX Intercooler
Hi guys,
I've got a 2003 WRX Wagon, Apexi induction kit, and turbo back stainless exhaust!
I want to upgrade the intercooler, should i go for a bigger top mount or a front mount?
If the front mount how easy are they to fit?
Cheers

With the limiting factor being the WRX internals, 'box and clutch, you're gonna have to spend serious money before a FMIC is justifiable. A decent TMIC will be fine for up to 330bhp, which is about the limit for the reasons I said before. Hunt down a used STi TMIC, they often appear in ForSale for IRO 250 quid. Add a decat U.P, decat or sports cat D.P, better fuel pump, some bigger injectors and a decent remap and you may top 300.

Hi,
I have a bugeye WRX, it has decat down pipe, up rated headers (equal), unresonated centre section and afterburner backbox, if I wanna see 300 bhp I am assuming a bigger top mount is better, how easy are they to fit? I would also do fuel pump and injectors too. Then, obviously, a remap.
Is a front mount that much hassle?

Swapping your Wrx top mount is a wise thing to do, I fitted a STI8 Top mount to mine not long ago and have done simliar mods to you just saving for a remap now.(aiming for 280-290 as the turbo is limited damn TD04's)
The STI8 top mount has been fitted to cars running excess of 350bhp.
As mentioned before unless your going for big power there's no point fitting a front mount cooler cause if you've not got the big power for one you'll end up with shed loads of turbo lag instead.
Not a big job either had mine fitted in about 40mins
