Default CLANG NOISE

I ripped the car about a bit, then had to drive slowly for next 15 minutes as there was traffic.

I noticed a metallic clang (like 2 metal plates being clashed together) coming from the front of the car. This noise only happened when driving slowly and changing from 1st to 2nd gear. I drove about for a good hour afterwards (fast on motorway) and the noise did not return.

Any idea what the noise was?

not a cracked heat shield is it by any chance? one of mine on the front of the engine bay at the bottom has cracked where a bolt is, and its really annoying when on low revs from 1st to second, or 2nd to third...

depends on the noise however... would say mine is a rattling tinny noise.,. anything similar?
