Question Another daft question.

I know this has probably been asked a million times and I've done a search but the question is..... if i want to put axle stands under the jacking points (i need to check out a knock on the rear end) where should i jack the car up from? I read in one thread that someone jacked their car up by the rear diff , dunno whether this is right or wrong. Also while i am at it i'm gonna change the rear diff oil as the diff is a bit noisy from time to time. How much oil will it take?

Thanks
Andy.

Andy.
Providing you use a block of wood jack it up under the rear towing eye.
Fill up the diff until it just starts to come back out of the filler hole, approx 0.9ltrs, I think.

Trolley jack and Block of wood on the rear diff is the best place, workshop manual pic below...

Default Thanks guys

Thats cleared it up, i had a pretty good idea but a question costs you nothing whereas a cracked diff doesn't. Thanks again.

Andy.
