Probably not. The Forester has an unusual ET48 offset and impreza wheels would probably not clear the rear struts.
Ask here if you want an expert answer though!

Impreza wheels have a standard offset of ET53.
Forester wheels have a standard offset of ET48. (they are 5mm closer to the arch, or 5mm further away from the damper, depending how you want to look at it)
I currently have a set of 17" alloys on my Forester, which have an offset of ET45 (3mm closer to the arch, compared to standard Forester wheels) and the clearence is fine. I'm running Falken ZE512 225/50R17 tyres.
You need a PCD of 5 x100, with an offset of between ET45 and ET48. You should have no issues getting this specification of alloy.
Failing that, I know there are plenty of Forester guys who want rid of their standard 16" alloys, and they often come up on ebay.
