Default 3000 mile service

Local dealer ( Notts ) has just quoted £185.00 for a 3000 mile service on a MY06 Euro Import WRX....seems a bit steep to me, or this about right ?

I thought the 3000 mile was just a check over.....anyone else had one and know whats involved ?

Cheers all.....

Are you sure he hasn't mixed it up with a 30,000 mile service, price would be about right for that.

Think i paid around £150 for minor service (oil/filter change etc) that was 23,000 ish.................................30,000 service (fluids, plugs, oil/filters etc) was around £350

Why does it need a 3000 mile service?

The dealer in Kendal told me 10000 miles was the next service on my Euro Import Sti when they did the 1000 mile service.

There's been quite a bit of discussion on the forum about whether or not a Euro import needs a 3000 mile service...the general feeling is that if your service book mentions it, then you should have one.

Just rang another dealer and they quoted £115 for the same service (inc oil & filter change)....contacted original dealer and they have price matched it, so £70 saved with a couple of phone calls.

Moral is...ring round for service costs, as they seem to vary a lot.

Cheers all.....

All going well, you'd be lucky to get quoted anything below 150 for a service IMHO . .

Most interesting.

No point worrying about it for me as it's a bit late for a 3000 mile service now but the dealer is still insisting it only needs a 10000 mile service. It would seem a little ludicrous if to maintain the warranty IM insisted on a 1000 mile and then a 3000 mile oil change. Somehow I can't see that standing up in Court, although it does sound typical of IM doing everything they can to put people off imports.

I guess we'll not find out for definate unless I ever have to make a big warranty claim.
