What's the paintwork like on MY06 Scooby ?
I just wondered if the paintwork was any better now than it was on the MY03 for scuffs and stone chips ? Anyone any experience of the black paint particularly.
I know Subaru don't invest there R&D money in paint (which is why we all like Scoobys so much), but the way the paint chipped on my last one was scary.
I'm thinking of upgrading from my MY03 WRX to MY06. Car went in for 3 year service and MOT last weekend and I happened to ask what it was worth - I was surprised that I was offered as much as I was. With £3k of free fuel at the moment, it seems rather worth while.
Cheers
Nick

I was surprised - Aug '03 with 30k - £9850 !!
Looks like that's about the norm then, but quoted depreciation is down to about 40% of new price - so this was about 2k more than I was expecting.

Had my 05 STI now for 1 year, 3 months, and not a chip in sight.

I just don't tailgate. keep back at a safe distance, while getting no stone chips. Wait for a safe overtaking opportunity, and use the power to quickly accelerate, and pass the car in front, which may or may not be a Toyota
