Do a search as it has been covered in greater detail before, but basically:

Handling
- Change rear anti-roll bar for one from a classic Impreza
- Lose the standard Yokohama Geolander, ideally upgrading the wheels for something bigger than the 16"
- Drop links front and rear are worth doing
- Upper front and rear strut braces are worth doing
- Get the geometery checked and adjusted accordingly

Braking
- Change the standard 2-pots for something better!
- Standard Subaru 4-pots will fit, but you will need to change the wheels, as the standard Forester ones will not clear the 4-pots

Performance
- Air filter - Same as a MY99/00 on an X-reg Forester
- Downpipe and centre section, same as on a classic Impreza
- Backbox will need to be a Forester one, but most companies can supply one (Hayward & Scott have a big selection)
- This year of Forester can be remapped using hte Ecutek software
- Injectors will be 380cc
- If it's a uk car, then it will have a TD035, which is smaller than the standard Impreza (MY97-00) TD04 turbo
- If it's a Japanese import, it will probably have the TD04 turbo

Interior
- Centre gauge pods for a MY98-00 Impreza, will replace the centre pocket
- Seats can be replaced with Impreza seats from any year. On the front seats are compatable.

There is a wealth of information on - www.subaruforester.org and many of the Forester owners here, use the European section.
