Default Flat4online.co.uk - recommended or not?

As I'm just about to splash £100 on a fuel pump for my Subaru-powered VW I want to know whether these guys are OK - especially as I don't see a phone number on their website.

Any comments or advice greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I have dealt with them once and have no complaints what so ever, what I got did what it said on the tin and it was also delivered to Germany in 48 hours.

I've bought a few things from them, or should i say him far as i know it's a one man operation or at least it used to be.

I bought a set of Sti rear lights which unfortunately got damaged in the post, (they were well packaged so i can only assume they must have had a right good wallop) sent him an e-mail and he sent me a new set no questions asked, he then arranged to get the broken ones collected, cant say better than that. Might add that the replacement set came boxed as before but with a 2" thick layer of bubble wrap, needless to say they were ok this time.

I would happily recommend him based on my experiences.

Many thanks people - recommendation is always good.

If all goes to plan this should be surprising a few people at Bugjam this weekend:

It's only 135bhp of EJ22 motor, but admit it, you're not going to see it coming, either

I was hoping for you to say 400bhp EJ257t there... but oh well. You're obviously just warming up

Top service from flat 4 when I used them. Fast delivery, no hassles.

I ordered a fuel pump from them once, it took fecking ages to turn up. Partly as I had to pay by cheque, wait for the cheque to clear, wait another 10 to 14 days for it to be shipped (no idea why), then find the random house that Royal Mail delivered it to.

In all my car was off the road for about 4 weeks, I ended up buying another pump from Alyn (who price matched and delivered next day) at ASP to get me going again, as I couldn't afford to be off the road any longer.

In fairness to flat4online, the product was as described, was well packaged, and was very cheap, they also apologised for the big delay in shipping and offered to refund me if I sent it back. Their contact/feedback with customers experiencing problems could be better IMO, but then it's a 1 man operation so I'm sure he's busy.

It arrived after I'd fitted the one from Alyn, so I sold it to a mate who wanted to upgrade his anyway - so everyone was happy.

Can only have praise for Scott at Flat4, always been very helpful and keeps you up to date with orders. after all, its not him that makes the parts! its the suppliers sending him the Parts!

Sorry to disappoint.

The drivetrain is good for 200bhp+, but I can't easily do a turbo motor as the turbo exits would vent directly into the fuel tank . So unless anyone knows of a Subaru turbo set up that vents low on the engine and on one side I'm a bit screwed.

There are always the NA H6 motors, for which off the shelf parts are available....

No pump as yet?

Bit disappointed as I clearly stated that I needed it for this weekend.

Hopefully it will show up this afternoon.

Nope sorry mate, I couldn't get a phone number for them either when I had my problems with them.

Maybe try ringing Alyn at http://www.asperformance.com/ before he closes and ask if he can get you one delivered for tomorrow?

As usual with all suppliers some fans and some not so fans !
And with a lot of suppliers Flat 4 Online sell stuf that they might not have in stock at the time of ordering and hence there is a delay in you getting the item you wanted.
This is exactly what happen to me with Flat 4 and had to wait a long time for my up pipe. Communication was not what I thought with great with promises of items arriving and then supposdly getting delayed with customs etc.
Hence if I order anything now on line I make a point of telephoning and asking if they hold the item in stock.
As Flat 4 dont give out a phone no (or didnt when I placed an order), and with my experiance with them I will not use them again.
