Default Dashboard Covering

Does anyone know of a good place to get a dashboard covered. i have seen it done by people on here and also the WRC cars also haev the same Flock dash (prevents glare) and in my opinion looks much nicer than the plastic look of the dash.

I'm in the midlands and so somewhere local to myself would be preferable.

Thanks
Chris.

Its called flocking and it costs about £80; at least thats what I last paid. I wouldnt say that it was practical to use in an everyday car though, you just cant keep it clean. Dust and lint constantly gets trapped between the fibres; it completely stops dash reflctions mind.

Simon, presumably the £80 is with you taking the dash out and putting it back in yourself?

It was yes. I think that the firm was in Northampton; I had it done years ago though. It was for a Porsche hillclimb car; and the dash came out with a lot less trouble than it will on an Impreza. Id still suggest buying one cheaply from a (non-specialist) breaker though and getting that flocked, rather than your own.

I only asked because I looked into a while ago and I seemed to remember it being more expensive. As for me, I cant be bothered with the hassle, means taking my cage out before I even started on getting the dash out. Plus, I seem to remember Skoobidude(?) who had his done also warned me of the fluff/dust etc that gets trapped so it becomes nearly impossible to keep clean... and that'd just do my head in

central blast cleaning in Banbury. you'll have to take it out and drop it in to them and then collect and refit. have seen a dash they flocked a week or so ago and quality was superb. not sure how much a scooby dash would be but a mk1 escort dash was about £65- £70.

am considering this for my dash as the sun has bleached it and no matter what i use, it won't bring the dash back to normal.
