argh help please!!!!
just washed my car and removed an old wrx sticker with the hair dryer technique, and im left with all the sticky resedue on the bootlid... like the backing of the sticker. i cant get it off and it looks terrible and feels all rough.
please help me im so ashamed of my back end now.

nothing has worked lads!!! hot hot soapy water, nail varnish remover polish... help it looks crap. its not even sticky any more, just like a rough sticker shaped surface!!!

just got some sticky glue ****e off my scoob with plenty of white spirit, old rag and my thumb nail (no scratches on paintwork ) ruddy good polish were the glue was. job is a goodun.

i dunno what im doing wrong. its just not coming off at all. where can i get tar remover and white spirit from, im really struggling on this one, i dont care how much i get ripped on this, its just not working.

Halfords "would" have been your best bet. but a bit tooo late now, amigo. looks like your "stuck" (pardon the pun ) with it until tommorow. just be patient trying to get it off. its very easy to lose your rag and senses and start attacking the problem with as much finess as a 20 stone gay biker, in a tutu. trying to dance to swan lake!! good luck, mate

il try the tar remover tomorrow at my incles garage. he valets for a living anyway so knows his ****!!

Nip over to your local Tescos.
In their laundry products area look for a small spray tin called 'DE-SOLV-IT'
(about 7" tall, white with a blue cap when I last bought a tin)
It's a stain remover and prewash but it gets the sticky from lables off pretty easily (smells nice too..lol)
Hopefully it will do what you want.

I got rid of exactly the same residue with the cleaner provided with a caliper paint kit. You can kill two birds with one stone... spruce up your calipers, and clean your paintwork! Good luck.
