Question Knocklink Help please

Recently bought an sti 8 Jdm. Twin scroll Turbo model

Run on BP ultimate / Shell optimax

With knocklink

The car has had Re - map at powerstation after being fitted with a Roger clark Full exhaust system with no cats, producing 347.6bhp.............

Well, i aren,t really up on knocklinks and what actvity they should be upto, the guy said that the first two green lights are fine, and if the orange or red etc flash, then i have problems.

My Green lights seem to be working ok, when i accelerate it flashes as he said, no problem, but its when i go round corners, all the lights come on really quick flash and thats it back to normal.

Have i got Problems, or is me Link telling me porkys?

Any help appreciated.

Phil.

Id thought that it may be running very lean due to fuel surge. Fitting a swirl pot may prevent this.

It's advisable to keep no less than a quater of a tank of fuel in the car.

As Simon has said, it may well be leaning out on the bends due to fuel
starvation, causing det.

KLs pick up all sorts of noise, not just det.
Are you really gunning round the corners when it happens?
Any scrapping metal noise when the lights come on?

These latest JDM ECU's are very good at retarding, the second it sees knock it retards, to demonstrate, my MY03 Spec C saw all of one flash of red and retarded the car 40bhp
Check the sensor and ensure its secure, it could be moving about slightly.
