Lucky !!!

Just thought I'd share a v. lucky experience I had yesterday.
It was a day for careless drivers on the road. About 12 o'clock
I had reversed out of a space outside 'Mamma's and Pappa's' in Edinburgh (buying pram, car seat etc ) and I was waiting on a car passing me to pull into another space. Checked my rear view mirror to find the ****-end of a Passat estate with middle aged women in it reversing without looking. Thankfully she slammed on the brakes about 3 inches from my bumper !!! Lucky escape Ifor the day ... or so I thought.
I'm sitting with my 6 month pregnant wife, waiting in the outside lane of the toll booths to go over the Forth Road Bridge.
I had previously passed a Metallic gold Punto about 1/2 a mile back. It had been driving in the inside lane at 40 with it's right indicator on permanently.
I slowed to let the car out and it just sat there for about 30 seconds until I got fed up and went passed.
So I see this car approaching as I'm sitting waiting on the car in front to pull away from the tolls. The Punto gets closer and closer and appears not to be slowing that quickly.
Closer and closer, screech of brakes that's it my MY00 (only 3 weeks old to me) is going to be about 4 inches shorter than it was before. Worst of all my pregnant wife is sitting in the front and is about to get a nasty dunt. Here it comes !!!
Slight thud, not as hard as I'm expecting !! Get out, check the damage ... result no so much as a scratch, I've no idea how the Punto managed to scrub so much speed off in the last few feet just very glad.
Women is v. apologetic, she says that's her first accident, I manage 'It won't be your ****** last with driving like that' and my wife persuades me no to get too annoyed. So I drive off fuming and yet relieved at the same time.
Be careful out there.
Doofus.
