Now don't go getting over excited in thinking I want to go caravaning in my Scoob coz this will only be a temporary thing.

I have to drive to Copenhagen to get my girlfriend but she has more than just a suitcase & hiring a van is just far too expensive.

Is there a tow bar that fits a Scooby (MY95) & can these be hired or will I need to buy one. I don't really want to be drilling into my car either so i'm hoping that one can be fitted without having too. That way I can tow a trailer & bring her back with all her stuff.

Any ideas

Tow bars are such handy things, I'd like one for mine. Wife got one on her car...

There was someone on here before talking about them, a while back so they do exist.

Try putting an ad in wanted section.

Tow bars dead handy indeed. Had one fitted to mine, I sought some advice at the time; get a Subaru one was the resounding answer.

My mate had seen a non original one fitted, it had caused the the floor to be ripped under the spare wheel - not good. I can't remember the exact price I paid from the main dealer but I think it was around £175inc vat plus fitting. They ain't the most attractive things but they'll help reduce damage if some one shunts you!

Thumbs up

NENO,

Very good point, I had a few Cortina a few years ago, and one had a tow bars the other didn't. Both had hard rear hits and the one with the towbars was in better shape.

The beauty of the Impreza one is that it mounts directly to the chassis making the whole of the back end stronger.

Hmmn wondering if the price I said was right - think it's at least ball park, easy enough to check with a dealer tomorrow though...

Cool

Hi All

I had one fitted (for mtb transporting purposes), made by a company called Bosal and is removable. Bolts into the chassis so there was no drilling required and when the 'hook' is removed you'd be hard pushed to realise I'd got one at all !

Not cheap though !

Cheers

Get the original Subaru kit it fits well but is substantial. I had one fitted to my Sti - It takes about 45 minutes all in to take off for track days.

had one fitted by dealer cant remember price but it is only used for boat towing and then only short distances have even thought about a small trailer for those all important trips to the tip with garden refuse sofas etc

Thanks guys. Bit strapped to be able to afford £175.00 at the moment but at least I know I can get one.

That is unless someone wants to lend me one for a couple of days
