By the time its landed you're looking at £1500, then you've got to get the thing built.

You can get a ready made 2.5 short engine for £1500

If you check the for sale section Ive got a 2.5 for sale. Prefer the 2.0 for tuning further. Cheap 2.5 built an all

I 'asked' a similar thread in Project Section about 12 months ago.
The 2.2 is almost a 2.1 so the gains aren't as big as you think.
They were very popular once and not now due to the 2,5 factor i think.
David at API engines bought a few in from Japan at about 2 x that money, and he only does quality, so maybe you should be carefull.
The killa is a 2.3 conversion (kit in For Sale @ £2200) then there are 2 nice tasty 2.5's there too, one is a long engine with the desirable V3 heads all bolted up tight...and at a Great Price!

The 2.33 I was told revs to 8+K and the 2.5 to about 7+K so you need to think gearboxes too....

Good luck!
Graham.

why dont you just buy a stroker kit here ??? there cant be anything in it for price and you can go to te supplier if there is any fitment issues. i was going to stroke my 2ltr engine but it wasnt sva'd and i was worried it would fail emissions so i just rebuilt a good 2ltr engine. the 2ltr is a good engine once rebuilt. i dont think wisco custom stroker pistons are much more expensive than the normal ones

plus i'd be unsure of spending all that cash without knowing which pistons and rods they are !!!

yeah that long engine for sale is mine. thats why i want to move to 2.2 etc because of the higher revving, im also trying to source a ppg kit or similar for a 5 speed as i dont like the six speed that im using at the minute. But again thanks for all the help and hopefully ill get some more, will be speaking to mark @ lateral today i think and ill see what he thinks

in answer to your original question, I have no experience with the seller, but if you look at his other items I would suggest that he is someone you would be able to trust, for instance, he is listing a second hand td05 turbo, immidietly he tells the mileage and the fact that there is play in the shaft. in regards to price a lot of things in oz for cars are really cheap.

just my 2p

I have no regrets with my stroker 2.2 kit, although the initial outlay was emotional (4k for parts alone). I wanted to invest in as near to a bullet proof bottom end as I could, following a big end failure.

2.2 sounds cooler anyhow!!

id avoid anything from pms in aus tho.

Ill recommend Mark @ Lateral too, ive had a stroker in my car since around 2001/2002 - Granted its not a daily driver.
