No Optimax Again !!!
Called round to get some petrol in Darlington yesterday and every single pump had a Yellow plastice cap over the Optimax hose
Tried to speak to a member of staff who was walking about outside. After repeatedly being ignored after shouting "excuse me" 3 times, a toot of the horn got his attention. Angrily he turned round shouting "No Optimax". Errrr, yeh, I figured that out thanks. I then asked when they were getting anymore? "No idea" was his reply.
How can Shell take the p1ss out of it's customers so many times?? I had to fill up with BP Ultimate @ £103.9 which is a ******* joke.
Rant over !!
Have a nice day

I was moving my car to the side, so to park up, then walk inside. I would have asked in there but as this guy was walking straight past me, I though I'd just ask him.
Yes, he may have been asked 25 times that day, but someone working in McDonalds get asked hundreds of times a day for a big Mac. Would he then say "Here's your big mac, now **** off you c*nt"?

i have to say, if there was a big sign up saying "no big macs" and people kept asking me for a big mac, i would start to get a little "wired"
i have had people swerving around the "closed for maintence" sign, and still sit there in a que tooting there horns
then after approx 5 mins of waiting they get ou there car and come and ask the killer question
"are you open"
"errrr nope the sign says we are closed??"
"i just thought you might have opened up, i need a wash

What you want is to be on the orange fill me up light, like me, goto your nearest Shell at the time (Priory), and then turn up to find 6 pumps all covered over and out of fuel of all grades, and a 40ft trailer parked up in the entrance to the place blocking all other pumps till he gets his fuel. At the same time the queue was backing onto Priory Island, and several cars were still queuing anyway too. **** here had to go around and then could not wait as the queue had backed up dangerously onto the roundabout. Poo.
So i thought sod it, i shall chance getting to Watnall Shell Garage and the talkative man there! LOL (some will know him
Anyway i get to Watnall ****ting my pants as my needle is now below the empty bit. I have already done 20 miles whilst on orange light so i am glad to have made it.
FFS if i didnt fill up and still have 7 litres left! LOL.
I know there is always more petrol left as a reserve, but 2 ******* gallons? LOL.
Suffice to say i got collared by the "talking man" and forced myself away.
Yes, its another true story!

No Optimax round here (Grantham Area). I was told by the very nice attendant (no joke) that they were told to run stock down because of the introduction of VMAX which is 100 RON. Should be here in approx a week, but be warned no price was available at that time.

Friday the 9th of June at a track day at Knockhil, a friend of mine (Gmac)needed a top up at the local Shell. About 5 miles down the road from the Hill and upon arrival all the Optimax pumps had the yellow stoppers on them. Gmac went into ask what the situation regarding Optimax is. The attendant was told by head office to put the stoppers on the Optimax when stock got down to 500ltrs. The nice attendant told Gmac that they would unlock the pumps to allow him to fill up as they understood the Subaru required the higher grade of fuel, this coupled to the fact that he still had his helmet on. Any Max Power driver came into to enquire about Optimax were told NO in no uncertain terms. After topping his car off the attendant promptly shut off the pump and went inside, the attendant showed Gmac all the literature he had recieved about the new Optimax and the fact it was 100ron
The attendant was told by head office that there would be a new higher rated Optimax and to run supplies down below there normal 1000 ltrs restock point as the next delivery would be the higher rated stuff and the last time this happened was when Optimax was first marketed and they had to purge the tanks of 97ron.
The new fuel was delivered on the 16th of June
Another member(Paddy247) of the Scottish forum has now filled up with the new fuel at this service station and is going to report back on how it performs with his std JDM STI ecu. Price wise it was 102 per litre but this service station is rural and has a bit of a captive market for Knockhill. Performance wise he feels the car is reponding well to the new fuel.
I reckon they will fill the tanks with the new fuel and then promote itwhen the know the tanks have been purged and they really do have a better fuel in the tanks
