We accept your apologie. For being out of order. It is also kind of you to offer "Scoobynet" members a large discount as a good will gesture.
Does, PS Lewis work in your PR dept????

If you look on Magnex's website it says "MAGNEX products are manufactured in the UK by CLF International Ltd". A search of the Companies House database lists CLF International as being 'Active' (rather than 'Liquidated' or 'In Administration').

It only happened yesterday, I doubt many government depts work that fast.
Janspeed's demise was a bit inevitable. 5 directors to support plus paying off Jan O'Dor 150k a year and a touring car to run, all on £3m turnover?

Jan O'Dor. My father sold him an Autocross car once, IIRC.
Still, with all these other manufacturers going bust you'll have to get H&S to up their Scoobysport exhaust production, Pete

Is CLF the same company as Condor Light Fabrications who used to make motorbike exhausts many years ago? I got very messed around by them years ago but don't know if same crowd?
Still I agree with Pete that its tragic when a company goes under in the run up to Christmas

I feel for the 5000 employees that natwest axed yesterday. They had to cut £15,000,000 out of the budget to cope with the interest rate cuts the americans are about to announce due to september 11th.

Crapaud -- yes, it's listed in the Companies House database as being formerly called Condor Light Fabrications.
Is there no end to the redundancies at the moment. I get the impression that a lot of companies are 'doing a Jo Moore' and using the Sep 11th events as an excuse.

RECENTLY POSTED RUMOURS ABOUT MAGNEX BEING IN FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES ARE INCORRECT AND UNTRUE.
WE WERE UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT FORUMS SUCH AS THIS WERE FOR GENUINE ENTHUSIASTS TO CHAT. IT SEEMS THAT IN THIS CASE IT IS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR PEOPLE INVOLVED IN THE INDUSTRY TO USE THE FORUM FOR POTENTIAL COMMERCIAL GAIN, WITHOUT RESEARCHING THE FACTS.
A CANADIAN COMPANY ALSO CALLED MAGNEX DID LAST WEEK CALL IN THE LIQUIDATORS, BUT BRITAIN'S FAVOURITE HIGH PERFORMANCE EXHAUST MAKER IS VERY MUCH STILL ALIVE AND KICKING *** IN THE INDUSTRY. THANKS ANYWAY FOR THE E MAILS AND PHONE CALLS ...ITS GENUINELY REALLY NICE TO KNOW SO MANY PEOPLE CARED AND WANTED TO FIND OUT IF THE RUMOURS ARE TRUE....THEY AREN'T!! ROSS SMITH SALES AND MARKETING DIRECTOR. MAGNEX

Mr. Magnex.
I do not think anybody was trying to further their own business interests through the spreading of this rumour.
If several independent people tell you the same thing, and you trust them, then you tend to belive it. If you also then want to make others aware of the situation, this forum is then ideal place to place such a warning.
I honestly cannot see that those people involved were trying to take advantage of the situation.
Anyhow, it is good news to know Magnex are alive and well.
Cheers
Ian

I second Ian's comments, and am glad that Magnex are alive and well. I hope they stay so for years to come.
I also agree though, that the originator of the news on this BBS, conveyed this message with concern and dissapointment regardless of any commercial conflict of interest. The conclusion to your response may have caused your company more harm than good!

Ross, can't speak for Pete, but I honestly didn't think he posted that so he could take advantage of the situation. He's a clever dude , but I really think he was just - as I suspect a few others - wrongly informed. Lesson to be learned about internet information BTW.
Glad to see your company is still alive & kicking ! Don't have it on my car, but I have seen some Magnex gear, and it is top quality.

My main concern was for the employees in the run up to Christmas.
Ironically, I have just put the phone from a motoring journalist friend who rang me to say...
I'm glad that Magnex have confirmed that they are fighting fit.

Think this is a classic case of finding the facts before believing what you hear.....
amazing how rumours can spread if people don't think - general observation - no digs.
reminds me of my car at Cadwell - intercooler pipe blew off, limped back to pits - before I got out the car there were a dozen people round the car 'cos someone had said it had blown up
