To all you Ringers
Forget the fastest lap. Have you seen a tour bus going sideways round the ring, and an estate car with THREE mountain bikes on the roof!!!!!!!!
I HAVE. Beat that!
Shaun.

Rich.
You can't actually do a flying lap at The Ring as you have to come in each time.
My time of 8.26 is from 'bridge to gantry'. The problem with this is that you're not a full chat when you pass under the bridge. They reckon you should add about 25 seconds or so onto your time, not allowing for this fact. Therefore I would guess that my 8.26 actually equates to about 8.48ish.
Still not bad for a first-timer though eh?
I hope you'll be coming yourself next time?
Stef.

Fastest full flying lap with a scoob till now is: 8.37 , it was Horst von Saurna from Sport Auto in a STANDARD UK.
What do you think is possible with a RB5, STI, P1 or 22B with a top-driver?
8.10 - 8.15 ? Faster??
grt Geert

To the best of my knowledge, the best time at the ring is (was) held by a heavily modified 'blitz' twin turbo supra.
I wait pateintly to be corrected.
I've seen the above car a few times tho, and its not something you could go and get the shopping in!!

what sort of time do the big bikes post?
thing is, driver knowledge has got to make a big difference to this, if you know the track absolutely you only have to get used to the machinery. Thats what test drivers do, they know 100% of the track, so they are testing the machinery, not themselves.

went to the ring last year and saw a Volvo estate going round towing a trailer with a bike on it! (Ducati I think).
Is that any good?

I went round the ring with an Instructor who timed me at 8 mins 47 secs including the Bridge and Gantry. Shame I didn't get the lap on Video as the fastest on Video was 8mins 55secs.
This was without pushing the 22B to its limits as max power is only 6000 revs.
