Default dealers and euro imports

ok guys, have a question thats really doing my head in 2day:
i bought a my05 STI last week from an authorised dealer, and will be picking it up this week. for some unexplainable reason today, a strange thought occured to me 'could it be an import?!'. reason i say this is the price i paid for it seemed to be reasonably good (ppp 4500miles ex demo 19250 - btw is that a good/average price?), i remember looking at the reg document and for the life of me cant rememeber if i saw 'type uk'!and i probably asked if it is a uk car but was so excited abbout finally finding the 'right car' that i honestly cant rememebr his reply!! couldn call em up today to confirm as they were closed for the bank holiday. im sure im just being stupid, and it is a type-uk but just wanted to know if authorised dealers sell euro-imports?thanks

I was in a similar position with my STI. I think the only way to be sure is to take down the VIN number and go to a Subaru dealers with it. They will be able to look it up on their database which will tell you exactly what it is and what dealer it came from originally. You dont say if it was a Subaru dealers you bought your car from, but they told me Subaru UK cant sell new, or even second hand imports. Incidently, badges are no guarantee of anything as they can be stuck on or taken off quite easily. Hope you get the answer youre looking for.

The fact its a ppp car also leads you towards the fact its a UK car...... Not a 100% guaranty but another indicator.

Sale of Goods Act.

If you've bought a car from a dealer described as a UK car and it turns out to be an import, you can sue his ***.

I was told by a dealer that Subaru Authorised dealers only sell UK cars so i have no doubt you will have bought a Type UK.
